He is the author of Forgery, Replica, Fiction: Temporalities of German Renaissance Art and Albrecht Altdorfer and the Origins of Landscape, the coauthor of Anachronic Renaissance, and the editor of The Vienna School Reader: Politics and Art Historical Method in the 1930s.

Fred S. Kleiner is Professor in the Department of History of Art & Architecture and the Department of Archaeology at Boston University, where he was taught since 1978. He is the author of more than a hundred publications on Greek and Roman art, architecture, and numismatics.
